How to create a guide

Creating a guide on TRIP2U is simple and intuitive. Follow these steps to get started.

  • Download the TRIP2U app on iOS or Android, create an account and update your Seller profile.

  • Use our in-app editor to add a product page, different guide sections, photos and videos, map locations, activity descriptions and tips, booking links, and more.

  • After approval, your guide goes live on the TRIP2U marketplace!

  • TRIP2U is an open platform that accepts everyone - from TikTokers to tour guides. As long as you have a passion for travel and stick to our content guidelines, you can become a travel advisor on our platform.

  • The guide creation process on the TRIP2U app is quick and straightforward. We recommend saving your guide content to your phone where you can upload the content via the mobile app.

  • A successful guide is a combination of factors: detail, photography, unique insights, and more. The more thought you put into your guides, the better the results will be.

  • All travel guides are reviewed by TRIP2U before being published on the app. This review process may take up to 24 hours. We reserve the right to reject or request modifications to content that does not meet our guidelines or our Terms of Service.

  • Yes. All guides can be edited at any time and your customers will get access to lifetime updates.

  • You have the flexibility to choose your own guide prices. There are 5 different price tiers to choose from, ranging from USD $19.99 - $99.99.

    The price of your guide will depend on the amount of detail, value and scope that it covers. For example, a New York City guide might be priced at $19.99 while a comprehensive USA guide might be priced at $99.99.

  • For every guide sold, you earn at least 78% of the sale price.

    TRIP2U charges a 7% service fee from each sale. This fee helps to support platform maintenance and new app features, as well as covering your Stripe payout fees.

    The remaining 15% is due to App Store fees.

    We recommend increasing your prices to factor in these fees.

  • Due to digital travel guides being classified as digital products, we are required to use the Apple App Store and Google Play Store in-app purchase systems. The App Stores deduct their own fee of 15% from each sale.

    These fees are standard and beyond our control. However, the in-app purchase system comes with benefits:

    • Users can make purchases with saved payment methods, requiring minimal input via their Apple and Google accounts.

    • Leveraging Apple and Google’s massive user bases ensures access to millions of potential customers. Users trust these platforms’ payment systems, increasing conversion rates for purchases.

    • Rather than having TRIP2U as a web-based app (which would avoid the fee), we are able to take payment in the app and instantly provide access to the travel guide in the user's account.

  • Earnings are paid on a monthly basis via Stripe. Due to App Store payment timelines, payouts are issued 30-45 days after the end of each month.
